Q&A

WHAT ARE YOUR STRAWS MADE FROM?

Stroh straws are made from natural wheat stems, a by-product of wheat production.Once the grain is harvested the wheat stems are usually dug back into the ground or used for animal bedding.

WHAT ARE THEY LIKE TO USE?

Wheat stem straws have a mouth feel not dissimilar to plastic, and they don't go soggy in liquid. In fact they strengthen and become more bendy.
However as the straws are a natural product they do vary slightly in diameter, from 3mm - 5mm.

DO THEY CONTAIN GLUTEN?

No. While Stroh straws are made from the stem of the wheat plant, the gluten enzyme is in the grain not the stem. We had them checked at a micro-laboratory to make sure and they came back as 'no gluten detected'

WHAT SIZES ARE AVAILABLE?

Stroh wheat stem straws come in two lengths, standard are 20cm, cocktail is 15cm.

In terms of width, straws vary from approximately 3-5mm. If you are looking for a smoothie straw we also offer bamboo alternatives.
